Are we seeing?

Do we really see when we see? Have we interpreted things the way they are?

The human mind is developed with certain preconceived ideas. The ideas that made us believe what is right and what is wrong. It depends on our upbringing, culture, surroundings and socio-political atmosphere.

To me, there should not be anything like right and wrong. What is right for me can very well be wrong to someone else.

What I just said is something that can only happen on paper. The idea of an unpretentious mind is as utopian as a Bengali becoming the President of USA. While saying this, I just realized how preconceived my mind is that to be the most absurd thing for a Bengali is to become the President of America. I would have said the Prime Minister of India as well But then, why do I need to really think of a political position? Simple, as politics is the most powerful weapon to pollute human mind these days. But isn’t it a tool that had been used for ages?

We talk about big data. We are worried about our personal data being captured and manipulated by others. But most of our politicians don’t need to know what is going on in our mind to manipulate our mind. Our mind is developed in a way that loves to get manipulated by others. If not, then we are extraordinary human beings.

We are naturally binomial. What we see is either 0 or 1. You are either a leftist or a rightist, a religious or an atheist, a nationalist or a terrorist. You have no right to be just you. A rational mind is not needed for the time being. In fact, there is a scarcity of rationalism in the midst of high nationalism. People like me have no place in this society.

Time has come to open your eyes to see nothing. Blindness has almost become a state of mind. A state in which we are forced to dive into. And I see no escape route from it.

Isn’t it something like we would rather see what we want and not see what we don’t?
